He has served as Graduate Program Director as well as Undergraduate Program Director for the BA (Hons) in Geographic Analysis. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics, a Master’s degree in Applied Systems Science, and a PhD in Geography. He’s a prolific blogger and author of the Coronoia series -a compilation of all of his blog posts on the COVID-19 pandemic, and he’s the founding editor of The Toronto Moon Substack newspaper. Claus is also a coordinator for the Canadian Academics for Covid Ethics, and a founding member of the Canadian Centre for Learning, an organization that aims to establish an alternative model of education that embraces critical, holistic, open thinking and free expression to facilitate personal and social transformation for those in search of quality higher education.

We discuss The failures of public policy (in light of the data) in the time of COVID-19, the ineffectiveness of masks in preventing spread of the virus, natural immunity, personal responsibility and media manipulation, Claus’ various blogs, The Canadian Centre for Learning, and the fate of the university.
